What Your Friends Say About You

Jim Rohn famously said:

You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

And it’s true.

So as you set your goals for the year ahead ask yourself this:

Do the people you spend the most time with want the same things you do?

Do they want to get fit, lose weight, be strong, feel happy and confident in their skin?

Or do they want to spend another year complaining that they’re nowhere near where they want to be in terms of their health, whilst continueing to do nothing about it?

Studies show that if our friends put on weight, we’re more likely to put on weight ourselves.

One study that followed 12,000 people over 32 years concluded that:

“You change your idea of what is an acceptable body type by looking at the people around you,”

What do the people around you look like?

Do they inspire you?

Likewise, it helps if the people around you are supportive.

During one of my group sessions this week we were talking about why, when you decide you’re going to make a positive change, people always try to bring you down.

For example, Connie doesn’t want to drink alcohol for a while so is avoiding parties because people will moan and question her motives instead of supporting her in making a positive change.

So why can’t the people around us be more supportive?

Probably because, deep down, it makes them feel bad that they’re not making any positive changes in their own lives.

One place you can be sure you’ll be surrounded by inspirational, like minded women, who are supportive and want the same things you do – to be fitter, stronger, sexier and more confident in their bodies – is in my women only group sessions.

Inside we:

– Motivate each other to be better
– Push each other to try harder
– Celebrate our healthy choices together

So my love, is it time to widen your circle?
