Need More Energy?
Too many women these days think feeling lethargic all the time is normal.
It’s just the relentless stresses of work life, home life and keeping all the plates in the air taking its toll.
I see it all the time.
Long day at work.
Stressed.
Tired.
Fed up.
The bad news is, it’s increasingly common.
The good news is, it doesn’t have to be.
There are some medical reasons for a chronic lack of energy (adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues, fibromyalgia) that require a more in depth approach, but for most people a change in lifestyle is all that’s needed to get your mojo back.
Sleep
Getting a good nights sleep is obviously essential. Staying up on your phone for hours after bedtime is not, so put it down! Aim for 8 hours a night, make sure your room is dark and if you have trouble falling asleep read a book rather than watch TV.
Diet
Eat a healthy diet full of protein and all the other the essential nutrients. Also, drink plenty of water throughout the day for an instant energy boost.
Exercise
It’s funny that using up energy gives us more energy, but it’s true. Follow an efficient exercise programme with compound exercises three times a week, and get outside in daylight for at least 20 minutes a day.
Stress
This is the big one. Fixing this often requires more drastic changes as there are so many contributing factors, work usually being the main one. Assuming you can’t leave your stressful job to play with puppies all day (or do something else you love), start with 10 minutes of meditation every morning and be surprised by the results after just a few weeks.
Looking and feeling great takes a holistic approach. Yes it’s important to be strong for your long term health, but that’s not all there is to it.
