How The Cambridge Diet Can Make You Fat

I’ve noticed a worrying trend in people who do the Cambridge (and similar) diets.

They lose a fair bit of weight when they first do the diet. But a year or two later they have put on more fat than they had before.

How come?

Because a temporary diet produces temporary results. When you go back to eating the way you did before, your body goes back to how it looked before.

With one additional problem!

Weight loss in the absence of strength training results in muscle wastage. So if you do a diet without proper strength training, you lose a lot of muscle as well as fat.

Guess what happens next.

When you go back to eating how you did before, you go back to the same weight or more! Only this time you have less muscle. So your body fat percentage is higher, it’s harder to lose weight and you look worse!

The solution:

Follow an effective strength training program while learning how to make permanent healthy changes to your diet.
