Everyone Got Sick!
My whole house got sick!
First the baby got it. Then my husband. Then me.
It was just a nasty cold, but the whole time I was ill I was craving junk food. I was searching the cupboards for biscuits, crisps and cake. (All I found was some Nakd bars, not quite what I had in mind!)
The thing is, I knew what I needed to eat was something light and nutritious and that eating a load of junk would actually make things worse, but I wanted it anyway.
Your grandma was right, chicken soup is what you need when you’re ill, and that’s exactly what my mum brought us when she came to visit.
That and a hot toddy.
‘If it doesn’t work at least you’ll be too drunk to care.’
Can’t argue with that logic 😂
If your metabolism is sluggish and your liver is clogged, every day can feel like this. You know you shouldn’t be eating all that junk, that it’s just going to make things worse, but you crave it all the time and it’s too hard to say no.
The problem is your body is struggling to use the fuel you’ve got stored as fat and needs a quick release of energy. Because sugar is the best place to get it you crave foods that contain a lot of it.
It’s a vicious cycle, but we can break it.
