Ever Been Catfished?

During the holidays I had some downtime and I stumbled across a programme called Catfish.

If you haven’t seen it before it’s about people who fall in ‘love’ with strangers online, and then later find out they’re not who they say they are.

Some of the relationships go on for years, the two people never having met, some of them don’t even speak to each other on the phone!

The climax of the show is the big reveal when they find out who their love interest really is.

Sometimes it’s a spurned ex, or jealous friend, sometimes it’s a family member!

But more often than not it’s someone who is so unhappy with who they are they believe no one could ever love them, so they create fake profiles using photos of attractive models to meet people and start online relationships.

Sad really.

Sad because if these people spent time working on themselves so they were happy with who they are, instead of investing all their energy into duping people online into pretend relationships, they wouldn’t need to ‘catfish’ in the first place.

Life is too short to spend it wishing you were someone else.

In fact I was thinking about writing to the producers to pitch ‘Catfish 1 Year On’, where I would take all the offenders and put them on my programme and present them one year later;

Stronger, sexier, and full of confidence.

But I’m a little busy doing that with my own clients at the moment.

January is the time for New Year Resolutions.

But 90% of New Year Resolutions fail.

How about this year you do something that actually works?
